  • Dinner

This week we have eaten well. We had McAlester's, awesome lasagna, green chile burgers and tonight we will have meatloaf, which I am excited to eat. Tomorrow I am smoking a brisket. I am trying a new recipe that my dad says I have to try. I am sure it will be awesome.

  • Yankees Win

I know most people think the Yankees are bad for baseball, but I happen to love em. Sure they pay an exorbitant amount for the players, but they are worth every penny and if baseball doesn't seem to care why should you?

  • Mowing Lawns

I am still mowing lawns. Well, at least my MILs and mine. Other than that I am pretty much finished for the year. I don't know when I will find the time to get mine completed. It takes a long time to scalp it and bag the entire thing. I was actually doing my MILs this morning and I was sweating in November. There is something wrong with that for sure.

I don't have to go to Mass. next week, but I have to go in December. I surely doubt I will be sweating there.

  • Thankful

I am so thankful for my life. My uncle and granddad passed away this passed week and it made me take a good hard look at my life and I realize how blessed I am. I have great friends and the best family.

My uncle and grandpa live lives that I want to resemble. I am trying to lead by their example.

  • Hectic Life

This has been a wild week. I am struggling to deal with the loss of my grandfather and uncle. I don't really know how to cope. It is done and I understand that they are not suffering, but I am selfish. I want them back without the suffering.

  • Life

My life has been going pretty good. I am having some issues letting some family members pass. It is difficult knowing that in a short while you will never pick up the phone to chat with them or give them one more hug. This really sucks.

So I guess life is kind of sad for me right now. It bleeds into every aspect of my life.

  • Hunting

Well, hunting was great this past weekend. It is still that time of year, although a little later than normal, that you see bucks running in bachelor groups. This increases your odds of seeing some big deer all together. Overall it was a great hunt and we came back with a ton of footage.

Salty and J went to Thomas the Train in Tyler this past weekend also. I am sure they had fun and I expect to hear lots of funny stories. I hear he really enjoyed hanging out with his cousins and I am sure they caused much mischief.

  • The Marathon

So I think I've decided to run the full marathon this year at OKC. I know it takes a ton of training, but I am will to put in the time and effort that it will take.

This is a big step. One of the reasons that I am going for it is to support my Uncle. He won't be around for long and I want to do something that challenges my mind and body in order to support him. It will be an emotional roller coaster and one that I am ready for. I begin training in January.

    Heaven Help Me.

  • Society and Divorce

I really can't believe our public morals have stooped to a new low. The other day I was driving and saw a sign advertising a divorce that only costs $150 if no kids are involved. I am sure that is probably the cost of a few dates. So all you couples out there thinking of getting married because it is the next thing to do you will be happy to know it will only cost 150 bucks to take a few steps back in life.

I can't believe how we throw away marriage these days. It is sickening to see our friends toss each other aside like yesterday's trash. No one takes it serious anymore. Marriage takes work and dedication. Think about it before taking a leap.

There is nothing cooler than seeing a old couple holding onto each other through thick and thin. If they can do it, so can we.
